[211] Friday, January 9th

Bro. Kay and myself walked to 42 Hargreaves Street, ahd dinner, and Miles and me took out Stars and Journals to their different places in town.

Miles come along with me to Pendlebury, as a district meeting was being held at Bolton the Sunday following. We visited most of the Saints. Supper at Bro. Snapes. I slept at home, Miles at Greenhalgh's.

Saturday, January 10th

I stayed at home until after dinner, come to Halshmoor. Found Miles at Foggs. We had tea there. Received from Bro. Fogg £0.13.0 towards the debt. Slept at Hollows.

[212] Sunday, January 11th

We left Hollows by 9 a.m. and arrived in Bolton by 10:30. Bro. Cannon and Kay was present. The 9 branches was represented in a pretty good condition. Much was said by the presidents about the late editorials in the Stars.

Bro. Kay spoke a little about monetary matters and thanked the brethren for what they had raised towards liquidating the debt on the conference. Bro. Cannon then spoke about 30 minutes upon the principle of faith, etc. Meeting adjourned until 2. I had dinner in a cook shop, walk[ed] round until 2 p.m. Meeting room was well filled. Miles spoke a little, & then I followed for a few minutes.
