[123] and left for Tyldesley. Very fine evening, had a talk in with Bro. Greenhalgh about branch affair[s]. Supper and lodging with Bro. Mort.
August 10, Sunday, Leigh
Breakfast with Morts, spent forenoon in the garden. Dinner with them. By 2:30 at Leigh meeting, had a good time. Received a letter off Bro. Walsh from Bro. Kay in which he says in reply to one I had sent, "Accept my thanks for the gracious offer it contained. But even should I have to avail myself of it, you can rest assured you will not be the loser by it." Preached for them in the evening. Supper and slept with Bro. Enos Ray.
August 11, Monday, Leigh
Breakfast with Bro. Ray, dinner with [124] Bro. Walsh, tea with Bro. Hindley. Lodgings with Bro. Ray.
August 12, Tuesday, Pendleton
Breakfast with Bro. Ray. Very fine morning. Dinner with Bro. Hone (?) at Tyldesley and wrote to Bro. Kay. Tea with Bro. Partington, called to see Bro. J.E. Stones. Arrived at Bro. Atkinson's by 7:30. Received a letter from Bro. Kay informing me to be down at Manchester as soon as I could. Went to Patercroft (?) by rail by 8:05 p.m. to Orsal Lane. Mrs. Kay had arrived, also Bro. Miles P. Romney, who is appointed to labour with me.
We had supper and lodgings with Bro. Rothwell.
August 13, Wednesday, Halshmoor
Breakfast with Bro. Rothwell. Went down to 123, stayed with Bro. Kay
