[97] June 30, Monday, Ashton

Breakfast with Bro. Schofield. He accompanied me to Middleton, dinner. Bro. Woods got reports. Walked over to Oldham. Received moneys, etc. Tea with Mother Ashworth.

By rail to Ashton, moneys and reports from Br. Hardy, attended meeting in a sister's house. Spoke about 30 minutes and closed. Supper and lodgings with Bro. Hardy.

July 1, Tuesday, Stockport

Breakfast with Bro. Hardy. Up early, wet morning. Walked to Duckenfield to Bro. Connell's, received reports, went to Hyde. Dinner with Sister Schooler. From there to Stockport up the canal bank. Tea with Sister Pass. Bro. Pass introduced me to Sis. Pyatt (?). Had a good talk with Bro. Hopwood, which was quite a taste (?) and good time to me. Arrived at Cleggs, got reports, etc. Supper and slept with Bro. Isaac.

July 2, Wednesday, 123

Breakfast with Cleggs, by rail to Manchester. Bro. Kay said I had been too long away. He expected me sooner, but [I] [98] had got in as soon as I could. I had not all straight forward, but I soon got all right. Got our writing done, dinner together. Had a walk round town and slept at 123 with Bro. Kay.

July 3, Thursday, Clayton

Up early, got ??? Bro. Kay to Liverpool by 7 a.m. Returned, had breakfast, got my shoes mended. Wrote to our family. Left a little after one for Clayton. Bought a pair of stockings in market, tea with Sister Mills. Very welcome meal. Stayed with her talking about her son Richard, who is on his way to Utah. By 8 meeting, a good spirit, spoke and felt well for about 35 minutes. Supper and lodgings with Bro. Mills.

July 4, Friday, Clayton

Breakfast with Sister Mills, visited some of the Saints. Dinner with Bro. Lee. Stayed afternoon writing for her, etc. Tea with Sis. Lee. Walked to Daniels, with whom I made acquaintance with them. Supper and slept with son Richard.
