At the time of the Census (June 1900), Clara was in school and had been attending school for three months. She reads, writes, and speaks English. She lives in Cleveland Township, Jackson County, Wisconsin with her parents, Anna and Herman, and eight siblings (Kuno, Robert, Hattie, Selma, Annie, Max, Minnie, Ruth). [HFL 07.]
             In the 1905 Wisconsin State Census, Clara Lange is a 21 year old, white, married female. She was born in Wisconsin of parents who were both born in Germany. She is married to Gustav Jankowski. She lives with her husband and a son, Herman. The family lives in Cleveland Township, Jackson County, Wisconsin. [GJ 06.]
             In the 1910 U. S. Federal Census, Clara Lange Jankowsky is a 25 year old, white, married female. She is married to Gus Jankowsky and has been married to him for six years. She has given birth to two children, both of whom are living at the time of the census - Herman and Ralph. She was born in Wisconsin of parents who were both born in Germany (probably Posen). She reads, writes, and speaks English. She has no occupation outside the home. She lives with her husband, Gus, three brothers-in-law (John, August, Ferdinand), two sisters-in-law (Ida, Bertha), her husband, Gus, and two male children (Herman, Ralph) in Otter Creek, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin.              In the 1920 U. S. Federal Census, Clara E. Lange is a 34 year old, white, married female. She is married to Gust Jankowsky. She speaks, reads, and writes English. She was born in Wisconsin of parents who were born in West Prussia. She has no employ outside the home. She lives with her husband, Gust, and four children (Herman, Ralph, Ethel, Harry) in Cleveland Township, Jackson County, Wisconsin. [GJ 03.]
             In the 1930 U. S. Federal Census, Clara E. Lange is a 45 year old, white, married female. She was born in Wisconsin of parents that were both born in Germany. She has no employ outside the home. She speaks, reads, and writes English. She lives with her husband, Gus, and five children (Ethel, Harry, Goldinne, Clara, Marcella) in Cleveland Township, Jackson County, Wisconsin. [GJ 04.]
             In the 1940 U. S. Federal Census, Clara E. Lange Jankowsky is a 55 year old, white, married female. She is married to Gustav Jankowsky. She has not attended school or college since March 1, 1940, but has finished the 8th school grade. Clara was born in Wisconsin and has lived in the same house and lived on the same farm since 1935. Her only employ, if one can say that, is housework within the home. She has no income outside the home. Clara lives with her husband, Gustav, and four children: Harry, Goldine, Clara, Marcella. The family lives in Cleveland Township, Jackson County, Wisconsin. [GJ 09.]
             In an undocumented article (April 03, 1949), the following was written:
             Madison Woman Dies in Crash
             Four persons Hurt on Springfield Hill
             A 73 year old Madison woman was killed and four other persons injured, one seriously, Saturday night in a head-on collision on Highways 1`2-13, about 10 miles northwest of Middleton on the Springfield hill.
             The dead woman is:
             Mrs. Gust Jankowsky, 110 Butler St.
             The injured are:
             Edwin A. Berridge, 54, Rockford, Ill., in serious condition at St. Mary's Hospital.
             Mrs. Hattie Schultze, 110 N. Butler St., facial injuries, taken to St. Mary's.
             Gust Jankowsky, 72, of 110 W. Butler St., broken right hip, taken to St. Mary's.
             Harry G. Jankowsky, 22 of 110 N. Butler St., face and leg injuries, taken to St. Mary's
             Witnesses told county traffic officers that Berridge apparently was driving on the wrong side of the road when the accident happened about 7:30 p.m. [CL 01.]
