<div>i had already just change the problem person to invisible to get past the problem.  Still curious as to why the record showed up as private in my website as if changed everytime i exported.  Especially since the date last modified shows the proper date several months ago.  Not gonna chase it since the person's wish to suppress the information is taken care of.</div>

<div>Use Legacy's Search feature, Look for Individuals, where to look=private, How to look=Equal to, and what to look for=Not Private.   Create List.  This will bring up the Search List of all individuals who are not marked private.  Click Options on the bottom of the Search List and select Advanced Tagging.   Pick a tag you want to use, and then first untag Everyone for that Tag#.  Then click Tag, and Everyone in the Search List for the Tag#.  </div>

<div>When you export your GEDCOM click the Record Selection button and click All Records with an individual Tag of your Tag#, and also Uncheck  the Export buttons beneath it  Then export it.  The GEDCOM will not include any reference to the Private individuals.</div>

<div>i use legacy to maintain my genealogy records and export gedcom as needed to load into tng sites.  i just noticed that when i import a gedcom, individuals marked as private always show in the 'what's new' list even tho there was no change in legacy.  how do i avoid this?</div>
