[85] Had a talk with [her] about foreign places that she had visited. Come away through the fields to Morts, stayed, had dinner with them. In afternoon, singing, etc. Wrote a few pieces from them in my journal. Songs of different kinds.

Left for Bro. Partington. Looked round a short time upon the new railway which is being made. By 5 at Partingtons, got tea with him. We both left for the evening meeting. Stayed with Bro. Stones. Since I had been there before (page 75), he had lost another of his children, the youngest, now leaving him 2 out [of] 10. We come to meeting, spoke a while to them, after which Bro. Stones bore testimony. Meeting closed. Supper & lodgings with Bro. Atkinson.

June 11, Wednesday, Halshmoor

Breakfast & dinner with Atkinsons. Moved to Halshmoor, tea with Stones. Went & had a talk with Bro. Fogg about branch matters. Attended meeting, spoke some time to them. Bro. Fogg also spoke a little. Meeting closed. [86] Supper at Bro. Fogg's and lodgings with Bro. Hollowis. He also give me a [British monetary symbol?] as a ???day present.

June 13, Friday, 123 [he had originally written June 12, then scratched over the 2]

At home breakfast, rode down with our folks to Peel Park. Had a walk around, arrived by 8 a.m. Got out all the parcels, Bro. Ray accompanying me. Returned, had dinner. He filled me one of my teeth. Returned home, supper and slept.

June 12, Thursday, at home

Breakfast with Bro. Hollowis. Had a walk with Bro. Fogg, dinner with Sisters Crompton. Come to Pendlebury. Tea at home, supper with Bro. Pitts. Slept as usual.

June 14, Saturday, Pendlebury

Had a good night rest, up by seven. Went to meet my friend, had breakfast, all our girls ??? (Ann?), Betty, Rachel and Martha. Had a walk to Manchester, through Prestage on bus. Had dinner, got Martha's portrait, found Bro. Kay. All met together at 123
