[83] Hyde, as he was intending going to Mellor, a place where some desired to be baptized. Expected to organize a branch there.
Came on bus to Pendleton, in another tight-wheeled thing home. Had dinner at home. Spent afternoon in making Father some clogs, etc. Tea at home, washed myself, wrote in my journal, etc. Visited Pendlebury Saints.. Evening, Supper at Bro. Snapes. Slept at home.
June 8th, Sunday, Tyldesley
Breakfast at home, visited Snapes and others. Called to see rushtons. Old man was gone to Buxton to recover his health. Pursued my journey over fields to Banks.
Stayed to see Bro. Berry, who is unwell. Had dinner with him. He had involved himself in some difficulty with the Saints. Bro. Rothwell & Young was in trying to settle the matter but did not do it. I told him to humble himself before the church and he would. He cried, was sorrowful, said he would do as I desired him. Found Tyldesley by [84] half past 3. Had no meeting in the afternoon. The Saints felt somewhat sorrowful & downhearted at the absence of Bro. Greenhalgh. We had tea all together. By 6:15 p.m. we had meeting. I spoke to them about 35 minutes, during which time the sacrament was administered. Bro. Partington spoke some little. A good spirit was in our midst. I tried to cheer them up as Bro. Kay desired me so to do. Meeting closed. We had a short walk after meeting, supper & lodgings with Morts.
June 9th, Monday, Leigh
Breakfast with Morts. In company with Sarah & Eliza went to Leigh, found Bro. Rayes. Stayed forenoon with him. Dinner with Bro. Wild, tea at Bro. Welsh. Accompanied him to Bro. Robert Hindley's. Him, me and Wild visited some who had been in the church. Supper with ??? Racy and lodgings.
June 10, Tuesday, Worsley
Breakfast with Bro. Racy, went to see Sister Walsh.
