[37] Arrived at Sister Lethers. She went for the report to Bro. Hardy's. Found my road from there to Bro. Morris's and had dinner with them. Received the report from Bro. Connell with the moneys that he had for me, accompanied together to Hyde. Bros. Levy & Nathan Wood then went with me to Stockport, found Bro. Pass, had tea with them, after which my companions went home. Slept with Bro. Pass.

April 30, Stockport

Breakfast with Bro. Pass and made my way to Manchester. Arrived at 123, Bros. Kay & Dame being in. Bro. Kay asked me if I was discouraged. I said, "No." I told them how I had gone on among the Saints. Bro. Dame departed to Stockport. Bro. Kay and me had a walk to Peel Park while the dinner was a preparing. [38] Had dinner together at Sis. Bently's. He said I must be faithful, and he would let me see some of the world before I died. Attended to our bookkeeping. I told him about being invited to sleep while at Duckenfield, how that Sister Morris said I might take lodgings at her house, but [I] declined on account of her husband working in the night. Said that was "him," it was right, it was the way he did when he was in Preston. "Had to sleep on chairs." Had tea and slept at Bro. James Young's.

May 1st, Thursday, Prestwich

Breakfast with Sister Young, and had dinner with our family. Visited some of the Saints, tea with Sister Snape, meeting at 7:30. Had a good time with them. I spoke some time. Slept at home.
