[27] Tea at Sister Bently's, and went to Market St. Got on the bus to go to Clayton, supper and slept with Bro. Wardle, who was emigrating this season.

April 20, Sunday, Hyde

Breakfast with Bro. Wardle and went on the train to Hyde, found Sis. Scouler(?), had dinner with them, and a good meeting in the afternoon. Tea at Levy Wood's, and preached in the evening for about 35 minutes. The brethren bore testimony to the truth. Meeting closed with prayer from myself, had a walk round the town with Bro. Levy and Nathan(?). Supper with them and slept.

April 21] Breakfast with Sister Woods and had a walk round the town and through the fields. Enjoyed ourself [28] in the forenoon with ??? a little at Bro. James Woods and had a little with him. We left there and visited some of the Saints, and in company with Bro. Lee found our way to Bro. Connell(?), who is the Prest. of Hyde Branch. Had tea with them and a good long chat, and singing. In the evening Bro. Connell and me had a nice walk up the hill to look at the town of Staleybridge. It looked beautiful, to stand upon the hill and see the town by gas light. The lights almost ??? like stars in the firmament. Slept with Bro. Connell.

April 22nd, Ashton

Enjoyed a good night's rest and felt a little better in my back. Had a good breakfast with Bro. Connell. Went to see Bro. Morris, who is emigrating and said to be the brother of "Prophet Morris" in
