[17] Lord was poured out in the midst. I spoke for about 20 minutes , the Brethren bearing testimony to the truth. The meeting closed with prayer from myself.
I had supper with Bro. Atkinson and lodgings.
April 9th, Walshmoor
On the morning, had a breakfast and a long conversation with Sister Atkinson, about her sons, in America, and my bros. also. I read two letters from them. One was speaking concerning my brothers, of which the following is a copy ??? in about them.
February 20th 1861] John Lythgoe and John Booth did not stop in Salt Lake, only two days, then went to the gold mines in California, or Western Utah, and according to reports, got killed by the Indians, before they arrived at [18] their destination they promised to write to me, but I have never received any letter. And if they have not wrote to their parents they may be sure that they never will. The Indians have massacred a great many on that route between Salt Lake and Carson Valley last season. And they went with too small a company, only 3 wagons, and they were advised not to go. It would have been well if they would have obeyed. I had dinner with them, and in company with Bro. J. Jones (???), pursued my journey to Halghmoor, had tea with Sister Stones, and visited most of the Saints, at meeting 7:30 seven when a goodly number of Saints and strangers was present. I addressed them the whole of the time. Quite a good spirit prevailed, supper and lodgings with Bro. Lacrish Hollows.
