[11] and went down on the train to Manchester, arrived, found Bro. Dame in bed, being not too well in body.

I delivered my reports to him of the branches which Bro. Kay and me had been to see. I was sent to Bro. Walker to get the report of the Manchester Branch but did not get it, so I was obliged to go away without getting that which I was sent for. Went to Bro. Owen's, took dinner with him and returned to 123. Made preparations for Prest. John M. Kay going to Liverpool who departed for St. Hellen by the 7:15 p.m. train, returned to Bro. Dame who give me the privilege to return home until Friday morning. Spent the evening in visiting the Saints, supper at our house.

April 4th, home

Had a good night's rest with our family, and breakfasted with sister Lusy [Lucy]; went round seeing the Saints, and moved on my [12] journey to Patercroft to see Sister Bridges, had with me the notification of her Bro. Joseph who had involved himself in some small difficulty on account of having to pay for a child which he did not acknowledge as being his own and on account of that he desired to get baptized and emigrate. Told mother that Bro. Kay desired him not to be in any hurry about being baptized. Had dinner with them and tea with Sister Barlow.

Arrived at the meeting, had a good time with the Saints, spoke some length of time to them. Had supper with our family.

April 5th, 123

Breakfast at Bro. James ???, moved on my journey to Bro. Dame whom I met about 10 a.m. Let to work at our books. Had dinner together. Bro. Dame was very kind to me in giving me instructions concerning them. Had supper
