Patriarchal Blessing of Hyrum Grant Weech

Given 27 Mar 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah

A Blessing Given by Patriarch Joseph A. Cornwall Upon the Head of

Hyrum Grant Weech

Son of Robert Walter Weech and Stella Jensen Weech, Born January 3, 1919 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah.

Hyrum Grant Weech: In the authority of the Holyl Priesthood I place my hands upon your head and give unto you your Patriarchal blessing. You have desired this blessing and you have felt that it would be a source of comfort and pleasure to you. Now the Lord is pleased with you because of this faith that you have exhibited in this blessing. Therefore thou shalt enjoy this blessing and thou shalt delight to live in thy life so that the promises may be fulfilled in thy life.

Thou art of the seed of Ephraim and by reason of this heritage thou art greatly blessed and privileged of your Heavenly Father. I desire that thou shalt read from the Holy Scriptures. Inform thy mind about the ancient worthies of this great family so that thou wilt appreciate and joy thy heritage.

Thou has been privileged now in thy life to go down into the waters of Baptism. Hands have been laid upon your head for the gift of the Holy Ghost and thou has been confirmed a member of this church. The power of the Holy Ghost will be operative upon thee as thou art faithful. The Lord has in store for thee a mission into the world. Therefore prepare thyself and hope and pray that this may come into thy life for thou shalt enjoy this privilege and thou shalt be held in honorable remembrance by many who shall hear thy testimony and receive thy council.

Thy voice shall be heard in the nations of the earth and thou shalt stand upon the corner and proclaim the divinity of the mission of the Prophet Joseph Smith and many will rejoice in thy testimony and be touched by thy oratory and be lead to repent and will eventually be brought into the fold of Christ. And in this wonderful service thou shalt have responsibility, joy and satisfaction. Thou shalt return to thy loved ones with sheaves to thy fold and thou shalt greatly rejoice and be comforted.

Thou shalt enjoy a companion in time and thou shalt enjoy the gift of posterity and thou shalt love thy offspring with a devoted love and it shall be thy heart’s desire that thy children shall become converted to the Gospel and enjoy its privileges and blessings and thou shalt labor to this end. Thine helpmate shall labor with thee to accomplish this mission. Thou shalt have a home in Zion and thy home shall reflect thy character and thou shalt be charitable and give of thy substance to comfort the poor and the needy and the sick and the afflicted shall be benefited by thy charity and thy love.

Thou shalt love song and music and thou shalt encourage thy brethren and thy sisters in this art and in this thou shalt be blessed and receive much happiness and joy.

Thou shalt honor thy parents and thou shalt be a comfort to them and in their old age thou shalt administer kindly to them and they will bless the day that thou wert born.

These are thy blessings and the beautiful privileges that await you in life. Therefore, be thou faithful and strong and courageous that thou might enjoy them. I seal these desires and hopes and blessings upon thee. I seal thee up against the powers of evil unto the day of redemption. I seal thee up to come forth in the morning of the Resurrection crowned with thy loved ones and eternal life in the Kingdom of our Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
